No Flash in sight. Super maps.

We all know our sites have maps. Maps of tubes. Maps of trains. Maps of maps. And we've typically had them represented as images, or maybe Flash-based creations. But static images are dull and Flash doesn't work on mobiles. So what can we do to create more interesting maps?

One potential route is the use of a web technology called webGL - a Javascript-based 2D and 3D animation solution that requires no bolt-ons in your browsers and that will (soon) work on many mobiles. Not only can we then create great-looking maps that work on desktops and mobiles, but the content of them will be SEO-friendly, too.

Win-win times!
